Review of Dark Blue (2002) by Kelly B — 26 Feb 2009
[ After watching a ridiculous amount of "The Shield" television series, I decided to dust off my copy of "Dark Blue." I'm just so interested in anything about corrupt cops lately. ].
While there's a hearty amount of interest one can easily take in Dark Blue's characters and simple (though engaging) plot, the film tends to feel just a tad like a TV-made movie at times and some key plot developments start to feel a bit rushed after about the halfway mark.
Nonetheless, "Dark Blue" should be worth at least one viewing to anyone for the superb lead performance from Mr. Kurt Russell. The film is certainly not ground-breaking in any way, but it's extremely entertaining, and I know that I'll probably start dusting it off more than once every few years. 3 stars.
