Review of Dare (2013) by Dana A — 01 May 2010
This movie really had the best intentions and really tried to be daring and interesting. the main problem with this movie was the incoherent execution, writing, casting Emma Rossum and direction. This movie didn't know if it was trying to be a teen drama or just another teen movie.
Sadly the latter was accomplished. This in the right hands could have been really interesting and made a statement about sexual and cultural identity, instead it mishandled everything and became a mess.
Its unfinished, overreaching and underrealized. The movie sadly dares to be something its not, dressed up in adult clothes but still in a child's body.
