You know, I really liked this movie. Yes, I liked this movie. Its The Rock, so you know exactly what you're getting yourself into. Its not emotionally thoughtful or a deep masterpiece. What it is, is entertaining, fun, enjoyable and it held my attention.

I was never once bored. The characters were simple but they all had a purpose. The script was somewhat predictable but it was to the point. The first half is really solid, and is what elevates things.

The second half slips some, and starts to unravel, but not quite enough for things to completely fall apart. The film, in a contemporary way, had a very 70s or even noirish quality to it at times, which I why I feel compelled to give it some praise.

There's nothing extremely original going on, but they are done competently. I have no complaints.
