Review of Danny Deckchair (2003) by Christine P — 04 Feb 2010
Cute light comedy that veers off the beaten path a bit. Danny is a Sydney cement worker who longs for the simple pleasure of taking a holiday to the countryside and camping, and he gets close to his escapist wish when he accidentally takes off with balloons and a deckchair (see movie title) and lands in a small town, complete with small town charm, folks, and love interest.
A little bit comedy, thrown in with some mad-cap-ery, along with a romantic sub-plot that's done a cut above the average romantic comedy fare. Compelling and funny. I'd recommend it.
