Review of Dangerous Liaisons (1988) by Matt M — 27 Jan 2013
Though sometimes too cold and hard to follow, Friars does a good job in balancing the complex story based on the novel by de Laclos about sexual machinations between bored, cold and alienated eighteenth century French aristocrats.
The film can certainly count on great performances by its talented cast and a wonderful art direction, especially represented by its wonderful costumes. Gripping and full of sexual tension, a must for all lovers of the decadent an alienated period drama genre.
