Review of Dance of the Dead (2008) by Rob C — 23 Sep 2009
Like many zombie films before it, Dance of the Dead follows the same formula with added ingenuity. We have some unlikely heroes in the various students that missed the prom. A couple of Sci-Fi kids, a local bully, a cheerleader, a trouble-making pizza boy who can't seem to stay out of detention, his girlfriend who is part of the student council, three musicians who lost out at playing the school prom, and an ex-veteran coach who leads them like his own platoon.
These zombies reminded me of Return of the Living Dead on how they were created with green mist and goo. A local power plant was the cause to all the zombies and it would of been nice to include the destruction of it.
The ending was maybe the only thing I didn't agree on. The gore was great in a very comedic sort of way. It seemed these zombies kept a part of their everyday life. We have a pair even driving a pizza delivering car.
Dance of the Dead is a great addition to the zombie market.
