Review of Dagon (2001) by John S — 17 Aug 2007
One of the very few movies to do real justice to H.P. Lovecraft. This is the short story "The Shadow over Innsmouth" retold in a Spanish setting, instead of the original New England. Otherwise the story is largely intact, and the performances are brilliant.
I especially loved Macarena Gomez as the totally creepy "princess". Some warning is in order though - there is a VERY gorey scene in it that had me squirming in my chair.
