Review of D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996) by Abel D — 19 Jul 2013
Third time's not a charm with D3: Clumsy directing and turgid writing, coupled with some poor attempts at 'Disney-tized' college humour (like a scene where one of our main characters goes under the cheerleaders' table) render the first two acts free of any of the cheesy, feel-good charm that let the original soar a little higher.
The third, however, finally amps things back up a little, with a final, genuinely exciting hockey game and genuinely emotional scenes, including the funeral of one of the supporting cast, as well as moments between Bombay & Charlie, but they are just not enough.
