Why did this film do so poorly in the box office and through critics' reviews? It's an overall good pirate film, only with a strong female lead, hammy, satirical and action packed. Geena Davis is wonderful! It starts out in a bed scene with her and a fellow pirate and Morgan Adams leaving.
.. she has 'taken his balls' (his bullets) -- so his gun wouldn't be able to kill her. There is similar humour all throughout, Matthew Modine and her scenes reminds me of the humour in Princess Bride.
Enjoyed Langella's 'bad guy' entry to all the scenes... really corny.
