Review of Cul-de-sac (1966) by Will G — 05 Oct 2007
Love a good PoMo art movie? Well, this early film by Roman Polanski may be right up your alley. Much of the film seems like improv between the three main characters, each of whom is fascinatingly bizarre.
The plot keeps changing just enough that you feel like you don't quite know what's going on, but you'd like to. The basic plot seems to be that a tough guy gets stranded out on an island and slowly begins to take over the castle where a looney husband and his beautiful wife live.
Interesting fact: actress Francoise Dorleac is the sister of Catherine Deneuve. No wonder she's so pretty.
