Review of Cul-de-sac (1966) by Hollie T — 30 Dec 2011
I honestly don't know what to make of this. Sometimes it's an insane comedy, sometimes it's a fairly taut thriller. It does manage to keep you guessing, and every time I started to get bored it started to change tones.
I wouldn't say Cul-de-Sac is a great film, but I would say that it keeps you guessing. Whether or not it pays off depends on your tolerance for letting filmmakers experiment on-the-fly.
