Review of Croupier (1998) by Jeff C — 12 Jan 2008

I wanted to like this one so much more than I did. Alas, cheap plot twists and a certain blandness (which may have been cool in a better film) left me vaguely unsatisfied. Despite some good characters, narrative and pace, there's just not enough to like here.

For what it's worth, Clive Owen is his usual cool self as a cool writer, adding a touch of class to an otherwise B-movie.
