Review of Crossing Over (2009) by Magdalena S — 08 May 2009
I absolutely hate men like Ray Liotta's character...they are the scum of the earth! As for the girl, girls like her ought to learn some self-respect and not stoop so low....it's not worth it!
The muslim girl just got caught between a rock and a hard place.....my question is, if she was an American citizen with the same views, would she be locked up for having an opinion?
That weak idiot of a brother who kills his own flesh and blood, his own baby sister, in the name of family honour, when will the likes of him learn that everybody has their lives to live and live it whichever way they see fit? All you can do is offer advice and give people a chance to redeem themselves. I hope he rots in jail or is put to death for what he did to those young lovers.
Somehow, the eldest brother, Cliff Curtis, comes out of this as a hero.....he has his issues to deal with for the rest of his life, he will continue to make up for it by his good deeds towards others.
As for the kid, he needed a wake up call and a second chance. He won't be making anymore bad decisions again, that's for sure!
A mother's love cannot be overstated. Mareya paid the ultimate price, trying to get her son back.
Ashley Judd's character represent all that is good and sympathetic about mankind. Women like that are the ones who give us hope. Hope that the world can be a better place.
It is the likes of that FBI lady who propagate fear and arrest innocent people for the flimsiest of reasons. She made such a hoo-haa over nothing! Nothing!!
Harrison Ford's character, executes his duties to the book but goes the extra mile to lend a helping hand. He should have just gone with his instincts in Mareya's case. If only he had reached out sooner.
This is a very good movie and has certainly broadened my mind and forced me to exemine my opinions on a number of issues.
Good, thought-provoking film. 10 Stars if it was possible to have 10!!!
