Review of Crooklyn (1994) by Kevin M — 08 Nov 2007
Such a wonderful slice of life movie--it's like a well-written memoir, where the plot is less important than beautifully and powerfully remembered moments in a family's life. Lee doesn't feel the need to use cinematic fanfare to announce which moments are especially important--he leaves that up to you, a faith in the audience that is close to the very heart of Spike Lee's genius.
