Review of Cremaster 5 (1997) by Kate T — 03 Sep 2004
(Museum Exhibit) (First Viewing, 1st Barney film).
I was wandering through the Tate Modern Museum in London this afternoon, and stumbled on an exhibit showing this film, and I jumped at the chance to see it (since I missed it when it played last year in San Diego). Reading the user comments over at IMDb, some says 5 is the best of the cycle, others insist it's the worst of the lot. That I sat entranced for over an hour on a cold cement floor (and my rating) should indicate how I felt about it.
But those of you who have seen the whole cycle, where do you think this one stands? Because if this is the worst of the bunch, I can't imagine how amazing the other ones must be!
More in-depth comments later on this film, and the other two I rated today. I'm exhausted right now, and can't think.
