I am actually a big fan of Ryan Coogler. However, I have never had any interest in the sport of boxing or any movies about the sport of boxing. It has never been an interest of mine, and that affected my enjoyment of the film.

I finally watched this film after constantly being told how good it was, but I just couldn't get into it. Plus, there were a few corny moments. I will say I deem a superior storyteller to be someone who can make me care about something I normally wouldn't.

This just wasn't the case here.
