A group of scientists hunt for a fabled "gill-man" near the mouth of the Amazon river. Pretty soon it's hunting them. This movie is enormously entertaining, and the titular creature is strangely sympathetic.
What guy wouldn't want to carry Julia Adams off to his underwater cave? I rest my case.
