Review of Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) by Jon C — 30 Oct 2017
I wasn't that impressed by it.
But it is still one of the classic black-and-white monster movies.
The fact that it's a guy in a suit is still pretty impressive despite how fake it is.
If they had shifted the action other than the boat in the lagoon maybe I would've loved it more.
For these people exploring the depths of the unknown they certainly get their fill facing a humanoid-creature that can breath underwater.
And I will give them credit for shooting a lot of this stuff deep below the surface since those actors must have held their breath for long periods of time.
Not as good as Frankenstein, Dracula or the Wolfman but comes pretty close.
