This classic monster movie combines great special effects for the time, a good location, pulp action and the lovely Julie Adams with great results. Steven Spielberg referenced (or copied, you decide) a few scenes from this movie in Jaws.
Like Frankenstein, this movie successfully portrays the titular monster with a degree of sympathy. These classic Universal monster movies are a bit more complex than some might think.
