Review of Creation (2009) by Jkdde K — 06 Feb 2010
The movie is about the most influential figure in modern human history yet the subject is limited to Darwin's trauma of his beloved daughter's death and his struggle to reconcile his relationship with wife. There's almost no reference to his breathtaking journey with Beagle, his father's influence in Darwin's early life is absent and certainly no afterwards following the publication of "Origin of Species" . This movie lacks in many ways! It's merely a physiological drama of a man if the name Darwin wasn't mentioned. The drama part is not successful either, it's tedious and boring.
I was expecting much more when I saw the trailer and I'm totally disappointed. There's a 1.5h long part of a documentary called Evolution from PBS where Darwin's life is depicted more successfully. One should watch that instead of this movie and the rest of the documentary as well to get a real grip about evolution. This movie sucks!
