Review of Countess Dracula (1971) by Scott M — 04 Oct 2007
If you can excuse the liberties taken with the story of Elizabeth Bathory, the Blood Countess, this is a great little Hammer and probably better than you've heard. Ingrid Pitt discovers bathing in the blood of virgins restores her youth (temporarily) and pursues a romance with a younger man by pretending to be her own daughter.
Things get complicated fast. Ingrid Pitt really throws herself into this picture and it shows. Well worth a watch.
