To say Cosmopolis is cold and didactic is like saying Barbie is for girls. It's just not that simple. Sure, the film benefits from David Cronenberg's "precise" direction, only because under the direction of anyone else, it would probably be unwatchable.
That isn't saying much, in my opinion.
