Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Hawk _ — 08 Dec 2014
Obviously meant to capitalize on the Occupy Wall Street protests. I actually can't really think of why else this would be a movie. Robert Patterson spends most of the movie riding around in a limo while various other characters discuss various issues with him: the problem is that most of the conversations aren't really interesting and seem to be focused on business, which is uninteresting to us as an audience.
The hook is that as the day (and the movie) progresses we are supposed to feel like the world is falling further and further into shambles, this is done at such a gradual pace though that it's hardly worth mentioning.
I expected more from Cronenberg.
