Review of Copycat (1995) by Cris L — 16 Jun 2008
For me, it was weird to see two good-looking men such as Harry Connick Jr and William McNamara playing mentally deranged serial killers and Sigourney Weaver as a vulnerable agoraphobic woman...It gave me a feeling of disbelief and I couldn't overcome it.
Holly Hunter is effective as MJ Monahan but she's no match for Jodie Foster's Clarice Starling and Copycat is not on par with The Silence of the Lambs...It's trying to outdo Seven and The Silence of the Lambs but it fails,it lacks the atmospheric tension and the suspense.
..A not-so-thrilling thriller, average but watchable if you are fascinated by serial killers and their distorted minds.
