Directed by Jon Amiel (Sommersby (1993), The Man Who Knew Too Little (1997) and Entrapment (1999)) and written by Ann Biderman (Primal Fear (1996) and Public Enemies (2009)), this is a smart, complex and tense psychological thriller that looks into the psychology and drive of serial killers.

It's a taut film, but it has two good female leads at the front of the film, both giving very good performances. In San Francisco, serial killer expert Dr. Helen Hudson (Sigourney Weaver) is nearly killed in a toilet by Daryll Lee Cullum (Harry Connick, Jr.

), a serial killer she was studying. She becomes severely agoraphobic, and a year after the incident, she won't go outside of her apartment, and does all of her work inside, with help from her assistant Andy (John Rothman).

However, when a wave of serial killings occur throughout San Francisco, Detective M.J. Monahan (Hunter) and her partner Reuben Goetz (Dermot Mulroney) call upon Hudson's help, as this is a serial killer who has been copying the styles of other serial killers, and soon Hudson becomes the target.

It's a clever thriller with some good twists and turns along the way, unfortunately it got buried among other similarly themed films out at the same time, which is a shame, as this managed to take a twist on the tired old serial killer genre.
