Review of Copycat (1995) by Karina W — 05 Oct 2008
A first-rate thriller, extremely well plotted and creepy with Hunter and Weaver equally adept at playing their respective roles of the police inspector and serial killer professor. The opening 5 minutes are magnetic, with Weaver's still practising psychologist delivering a lecture on the nature of serial killers, an interesting insight that turns sour when she is almost killed in the bathroom by a southern escaped murderer with vengeance on his mind.
A scarily intense Connick Jr. 13 months later and Weaver is agoraphobic, retired and forever remaining in the confines of her home. That is until she meets Hunter's cop, who utilizes her knowledge in the field of killers to solve an apparent copycat case in which the killer is impersonating murders and infamy from psychopaths from the past.
What follows is thrilling to say the very least.
