Review of Conviction (2010) by Valéria V — 10 Oct 2012
This film is a genuinely moving experience. The pace of Conviction never slows and small details add to the depth of this gem. The villain of Ghost, Director Tony Goldwyn makes you feel so much for the two main characters, makes you feel the injustice of it all. Casting Rockwell and Swank as brother and sister was brilliant, they shared a wonderful chemistry and successfully captured a lifelong, well-tested sibling relationship beautifully.
She had won two Oscars for it, in Million Dollar Baby and Boys Don't Cry. Now Swank marvels us in the true story of a wrongful 1983 murder conviction of her sibling who dedicates 20 years of her life to proving his innocence. There is no doubt that Hilary Swank and Sam Rockwell are two of our greatest actors today. They brought something pure to their performances. Absolutely absorbing and powerful drama.
