Contracted (2013) Movie Review!
Oh my god, this movie was just....well, let's review it first, shall we?
We start with a teen-girl named Samantha who drinks at a party and subsequently gets raped in the process. What follows is a series of events that occur after the night. The movie is divided into 3 days; showing the process of the lady's aftermath.
Now it sounds like a good premise, I'll give it that. But does it deliver? Sort of. It works well to build up a seemingly inescapable fate...in a strange way.
The movie flies off the damn handle several times. It is never fully explained what her origins of the situation are, and what exactly is it in its totality. For an indie film, and even more, it looks rather professional. It was well done, well directed; hell, I got into it more than I thought I would.
But the killer? The complete killer? The ending. The ending was the worst thing I could ever imagine being put into this movie. And the worst part? I saw it coming! I literally begged that I would be wrong of my assumed ending, and lo and behold, it came true.
Such a sad thing, really. The movie looked good until that point. I'm so angry about it.
This movie gets a 4 out of 10. (2 stars) It would've gotten a 6 or 7 if the ending never happened; it's that uncalled for.
