Review of Contempt (1963) by Aaron D — 25 Jan 2010
Quite pretty but ultimately pointless and empty. Characters are shallow stereotypes even if compared to films that only came out before then. Mindless bickering as a pompous, swaggering Frenchman tries to figure out why his young wife doesn't love him anymore.
Bergman's quote about Godard seem pretty close after seeing this.
