Review of Contagion (2011) by Adam S — 12 Jun 2014
I loved this movie. I can't say that enough. I LOVED this movie. Loved, loved, loved, loved, loved it.
"Contagion" tells the story of a virus, which first surfaces in Hong Kong and quickly travels with tourists and commuters across the globe, causing wide-spread chaos and mayhem.
Following multiple plausible storylines - including Laurence Fishburne as a doctor racing to find the cure, Kate Winslet as an adviser to a WHO-like organization, Marion Cotillard as a medical investigator who gets caught up in a political storm, Matt Damon as an immune patient who lost his family to the disease on day 1, and Jude Law as the pseudo-science advocate who is fighting for homeopathy to destroy the virus.
Also starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Bryan Cranston, this movie strives for scientific accuracy, and succeeds as closely as any movie can, and the fantastic performances and thrilling storyline makes this one unmissable and completely engrossing film.
10/10.
