The acting and cinematography are quite excellent, but when has Zemeckis ever failed on these two fronts? The writing is quality. But people who don't like to think in movie aren't going to enjoy this one.
There's a lot in here. More, I dare say, than can be taken in on the first time. To me that's the mark of a good movie, even if I felt the climax left something to be desired. It was pretty darn sappy.
