Review of Contact (1997) by The3Academysins — 29 Jan 2019
A surprisingly beautiful film, Contact serves as a great example of really well done science fiction. The script is beautifully written and really tackles some great philosophical questions. The cinematography is stupendous and has held up remarkably well, especially for a film from 1997.
Jodi Foster is honestly incredible and gives a career-defining performance. The support cast is kind of hit and miss, with Matthew McConaughey really standing out. The only flaws that Contact has are that it does drag at one or two scenes, and sometimes the motivations of the supporting characters are unclear.
However, this is a fantastic film, and a must-see for science fiction and 90s film fans.
