Contact is one of the most underrated and overlooked films of director Robert Zemeckis. It is sense, scientific and holds the attention of the viewer from the very first moment to the end which is a rare feat for a sci-fi film. It captures the reaction from the masses so aptly that you can believe that this will most definitely happen had it been on real life. However, Contact stumbles on it's third act by providing a usual predictable ending which tells us that human beings are not ready for such knowledge and other similar bull shit. It shamelessly tries not to disappoint the religious masses in it's ending and the fact that this is a scientific film further makes it even more disappointing and questions the purpose of the entire film. I really hated the religious people while watching this and their unnecessary effect and influence on the government.
