Arnold Schwarzenegger could be an enjoyable actor when given the right role, and when he's not in a comedy as well. Though the movie itself is dumb, it's still a fun movie to watch.

Commando is about a retired Black Ops Commando who launches a one man war against a group of South American criminals who have kidnapped his daughter. Now this movie is not exactly well written, there are some dumb moments. Like in a scene when Arnold is surrounded by the villain henchman who are armed with guns and they don't shoot him. The same could be said about Arnold character who doesn't fire the gun he took in that same scene and in a later scene takes off the seat of a car seat for no reason. Yet despite the movie story being dumb, for the most part it's enjoyable. It may be dumb in story term, but it's the enjoyable kind that knows what's trying to be and delivers some enjoyment.

Now this being a Schwarzenegger you can expect the usual kick-ass action he know for. He literally takes out an entire army in this movie, though unbelievable like the rest of the movie, who doesn't enjoy Schwarzenegger in a good action role. Arnold fits this movie perfectly, though his character does spit out some dumb one-liner. Arnold is thankfully the most enjoyable actor here because the rest of cast isn't. It's not exactly the cast fault for this, it's just there characters were written poorly.

Commando is a action movie that doesn't ask to much from the audience in terms of storytelling and instead it focus is just to entertain the audience and it does it well.
