Review of Cold Pursuit (2019) by Compi24 — 08 Apr 2016
At first glance, "Cold Pursuit" appears to be the kind of typical, white bread vengeance thriller film you'd expect from the genre. "Liam Neeson seeks vengeance on the people that killed one of his loved ones," after all, isn't necessarily a very original premise for a film.
But for Hans Petter Moland, writer-director of the Norwegian film this is based on, this is no ordinary actioner. Indeed, its the refreshingly cheeky, weird, and wry tone in play throughout this film that makes it different from every other film of the same ilk.
Toss in some genuinely interesting plotting work and a handful of engaging action scenes, and you get a worthwhile cinematic experience.
