Review of Coffee & Kareem (2020) by Bradens584 — 19 Dec 2020
Coffee and Kareem isn’t great. It’s debatable whether it’s even good. But this movie received so much hate from critics that it’s ridiculous. This movie currently sits at 19% on Rotten Tomatoes, that’s worse than ALL THE STAR WARS PREQUELS.
And I have to say; I enjoyed Coffee and Kareem. It’s not original, rather it’s almost painfully generic. But it delivers on comedy. This movie is hilarious, most all of the jokes land and they’re almost all at least chuckle-worthy.
Ed Helms (Andy from the Office, Stu from the Hangover) is great as always, and has great chemistry with his co-star, Terrence Little Gardenhigh. The plot isn’t anything innovative or original, but it kept me engaged enough that I wasn’t checking my watch.
Action, crude comedy, great performances, strong characters, Coffee and Kareem isn’t anything new, but it’s a fun time.
