Review of Code Unknown (2000) by Brandon S — 26 Nov 2007
Challenging and often frustrating, this film is one that has multiple storylines, but unlike films like Babel and Crash, it asks us to connect them instead of doing the work for us. Sometimes it seemed a little contrived, and I admit I was bored during several scenes, that didn't seem quite necessary.
Perhaps it will require a few viewings before I can fully appreciate it, but it is a very well made movie regardless, and will definitely make you question your preconceptions about what exactly a movie should do and how it should be made.
