Review of Code Unknown (2000) by Terri H — 05 Jan 2009
Kind of like Magnolia without the cohesion. There's about a half dozen story lines going on, and for the most part, every scene is in real-time, unedited. While that is a feat in itself, the movie suffers because of it's unorthodox structure.
Because it jumps around so suddenly, the only character I really felt for was Juliette Binoche. There are about three or four scenes in here that are just flat-out brilliant, but there is just way too much filler around them.
