Review of Cocoon (1995) by Henk E — 31 May 2009
This is a movie I wold love to make... a true classic with some classic actors!
The movie deals with themes deals of "getting old" and "appreciating the life you have" and there hasn't been a movie like it since (except maybe the sequel, E.T and Driving Miss Daisey).
And I really love these characters in their prime who has a lot of spunk still left in them.
It is a little outdated now (even though I think the 80's kitsch gives it a bit of class!) and the special effects is simple (even though it was top of the range then).
The acting is wonderful, even from Steve Guttenberg who I am not a fan of (and who I must say is looking rather yummy in the movie... go figure!).
This is a lovely movie for the whole family and it is guaranteed to leave you with a warm feeling in your heart!
