Review of Coco Before Chanel (2009) by Richard M — 19 Aug 2010
This could have been as good as "La Vie en Rose". After all, the structure is quite similar, and the protagonists have parallel paths, from humble beginnings as abandoned children to accomplished artists as adults.
However, Marion Cotillard's delivery was poignant, whereas Audrey Tautou is lukewarm. I am not sure if it is because of the differences between the people being portrayed or the talents of the actors and directors involved in each project.
Overall, a good period biopic.
