Watching this film, I am amazed once again how Herzog managed to shoot in the tropics. Kinski is excellent though Herzog seems to spend a bit too much time on ritual, tribal scenes. After watching the 5 minute scene of hundreds of half-nude, female slaves training for battle, I began to ask myself how innocent Herzog's fascination for tribailism really is.
