Review of Cobra Verde (1987) by Sean D — 12 Oct 2009
A simple and somber pacing film that lets things play as they were intended. A "natural film" is best used to describe it if that makes any sense whatsoever. Herzog and Kinski pair up once again for their final feature together.
Kinksi bringing to screen his animal ferocity once again, as wonderfully fresh as always. This time, when paired with the subject of slavery and Amazons, his performance is completely at home here. Very rarely does a film make me wanna charge the screen with a machete at one moment and weep at the films fairly disturbing conclusion.
My final thoughts; I wish Kinski was still alive, he would have made a badass Joker.
