I couldn't remember putting this on my love film list. Neither did I know it was based on a book which I have on my list to read, but haven't got round to. Not even did I know that it was half set in South America which I love. I wasn't disappointed though when I put it in my DVD player.
All the reasons to love Herzog and Kinski are there. Madness, sweeping vistas (internal and external), futile struggle, evil, good, light and dark. I couldn't turn it off, and when I was forced to it kept on playing on in my mind until I can get back to it. Great.
