Review of Clueless (1995) by Lisa Michelle A — 28 Jan 2012
Clueless is where I first became a fan of Alicia Silverstone, Brittany Murphy, Stacey Dash, Elisa Donovan, Donald Faison & Paul Rudd. All of them were really funny and the film was hilarious. One of my favorite feel-good romantic comedies.
The best lines (in no particular oder):
Mel: "Do you know what time it is?".
Cher: "A watch doesn't really go with this outfit, daddy.".
Christian: "Do you like Billie Holiday?".
Cher: "I love him.".
Cher: "Would you call me selfish?".
Dionne: "No, not to your face.".
Mel: "So, what did you do in school today?".
Cher: "Well, I broke in my purple clogs.".
Mel: "What the hell is that?".
Cher: "A dress.".
Mel: "Says who?".
Cher: "Calvin Klein.".
Josh: "You want to practice parking?".
Cher: "What's the point? Everywhere you go has valet.".
Murray: "Your man Christian is a cake boy!".
Cher & Dionne: "A what?".
Murray: "He's a disco-dancing, Oscar Wilde reading, Streissand ticket holding friend of Dorothy, know what I'm saying?".
Cher: "Uh-uh, no way, not even!".
Murray: "Yes even, he's gay!".
Dionne: "He does like to shop, Cher. And the boy can dress.".
Cher: "I was totally Clueless.".
My Actor/Actress review:
Alicia Silverstone - great as Cher, played the blonde air-head really well.
Brittany Murphy - such a great actress, I can't believe that she's dead, she had so much more to do with her life, so many more great films just waiting for her.
Stacey Dash - bossy and brassy as Dionne.
Donald Faison - so funny as Murray! Love him now in Scrubs.
Elisa Donovan - quite bitchy & annoying in this, preferred her in Sabrina The Teenage Witch as Morgan.
Paul Rudd - utterly adorable in this, makes really funny films nowadays.
Breckin Meyer - hilarious as Travis!!!
Dan Hedaya - so great as Mel, loved it when he shouted.
Jeremy Sisto - not one of his best films as his character was so up himself.
