Review of Cloverfield (2008) by Matt M — 18 Jan 2013
A new kind of science fiction film reminiscent of the same style used in the Blair Witch Project with much more CGI. This is a new approach to the alien invasion film, although eventually the plot device, in this case the camcorder carried with as an unexplainably religious totem of sorts, becomes more important than the plot itself.
Not to mention that the shaky camerawork adds realism but is bound to make some feel sick.
