Cloverfield pretty much is what it says it is. its a science fiction apocalypse epic with screaming people, aliens, pandemics...all that stuff. basically, there isnt anything new ; no thought provoking storyline or crazy plot twists, its just that simple story of human will to survive,but its not a bad thing. Cloverfield offers what it should ;good graphics, acting and plenty of action and suspense.

Its innovative in the sense of filming style, from a characters point of view, like its filmed from an amateur camera. some may find the jerky angles and such unnerving, but its more a matter of personal preference than it being a mistake. it means the viewer can identify in the situation more, as if they are there observing everything, and its this that sets Cloverfield apart.
