Matt Reeves's "Cloverfield" is a surprisingly entertaining monster movie with a story that has been told by Hollywood countless times, but it also has great characters played by really talented actors and actresses, great special effects, great music scores, and the most important of all: great atmosphere.
Thumbs up.
