Very underrated movie. I am a big Wire fan, but it's hard not to see The Wire as somewhat derivative of Clockers. You can't go wrong shoehorning Harvey Keitel, Delroy Lindo, John Turturro, Michael Imperioli into a cop drama.
But the script is terrific too, a lot of great lines and dialogue. It doesn't always connect, but when it does Clockers is top notch.
