Review of City of the Living Dead (1980) by Leane E — 25 May 2008
Often unfairly dismissed as a 'dry-run' for the (admitedly better) THE BEYOND, made a year later, CITY is a terrific horror film in it's own right. Sure, the ending makes no sense at all, but the Thomas family crypt scene that precedes it is one of the most pulse-pounding set pieces in horror history.
A great, bizarre shocker from Fulci.
