Review of City of God (2002) by Wilman A — 20 Nov 2013
Powerful movie and non pro performances. this movie has a tag "One of the best films you`ll ever see" by Rogert Ebert and I agree too. this movie is great model for another based on true story movie.
using narrator style this movie delivered very clear expanation of plot and storyline even you won`t be given opportunity for confused. cleverness from creator in connecting the two events and different viewpoints and expert widescreen photography which tends to view people from various angle.
the story is focus on one boy who lived in one streets of the world`s most notorious slum, Rio de Janeiro " CIty of God". He never has intention for joint his brother gangs and never be involved in crime because he fear of being shot and has a kindness in his heart.
he decided to be a photographer after he saw a journalist who come to City of God a few times. faith and luck deliver him to be real photographer for one jornalist firm. since little boy he always afraid from Lil (the boy who has obsession to be the boss of Gangster in CIty of God".
Lil is the product of heritage and culture of gangster predecessors. one big twist came in this movie make this movie is very interesting. this movie has powerful and true story about area which always product successor of violation and gangsters like nonstop circle.
